Somatic Exercises - Fear and Anxiety - The Withdrawal Response


The withdrawal response goes palm in palm with dread, apprehension and anxiety. When a person is overwhelmed by these emotions an instant reflex occurs, one that causes us to desire to get outside of our fearful situation, to withdraw. This lower-brain stem reflex happens so quick we are not aware of it, yet when this unconscious habit is repeated it starts to affect everything we do. More information: more info
