Child Abuse in the News - What Is It Telling Us?
In recent days and weeks, there have been distinct sensational tales in the news that have shined the blaze brightly on the issues of minor abuse and neglect. The punishment of an adopted minor with hot sauce and cold showers, the increase of minor trafficking surrounding the Super Bowl, a doctor who was charged with minor rape and sexual assault, and much an undercover sting operation involving minor prostitution just this past week. We have seen the shocked responses, however not the determination to prevent abuse. It seems there has been a fantastic deal of the "it's terrible, however it's just not my difficulty to fix" mentality. The exception, however, is in Delaware.
